Your roof-mounted solar panels contain photovoltaic cells, also known as solar cells. When sunlight falls on the cells they convert the sun’s energy into DC (direct current) power.

It is best to have a professional assess whether your building is suitable for a solar power system. Factors to consider include the age and condition of your roof, the orientation and angle of your roof, and the amount of shading on your roof.
The cost of a grid connect solar power system will vary depending on a number of factors, such as the size of the system, the location of the property, and the type of solar panels used. On average, you can expect to pay around $4,000 to $6,000 for a small 2kW system, and upwards of $7,000 for a larger 5kW system.
A grid-connected solar power system is a type of solar panel installation that is connected to the main electricity grid. The system generates electricity using solar panels, which convert the sun’s energy into electricity that can be used to power your home or business. Any excess electricity that is generated by the system is fed back into the grid, and you will receive a credit for this excess energy on your electricity bill.
It takes energy to produce a solar power system, but it will generally pay for itself in terms of the energy it generates over its lifespan. Solar panels have a very low environmental impact and do not produce any greenhouse gas emissions during operation.
Solar power systems typically have a lifespan of around 25-30 years. However, this can vary depending on the quality of the system and how well it is maintained.
For our customised solar and battery solutions, we provide a minimum five-year installation warranty. Our work is in accordance with required industry codes of conduct, building codes and local government and legislative requirements. All supplied systems, components and equipment comply with Australian Standards and come with the following express warranties:

You must have your landlord’s approval to install a solar system on the roof of rented premises, as only the property owner has the right to assign STCs (see below) to a third party such as EnergyAustralia.
Yes, it is possible to upgrade your solar power system if your energy requirements increase. This may involve adding additional solar panels or replacing your existing panels with more efficient ones.
The installer will prep your roof to ensure that the roof shingles and/or tiles are properly attached and secure. They will then begin the process of setting up the electrical wiring that will connect your panels to the general power system. The installer may need to come into the home for wiring. Once wiring is complete, the racking to support your panels will be attached to the roof. The racking will be the only element that will be physically attached to the roof, and once these racks are levelled and safely attached, solar panels will be placed on to the racks. The final step is to connect the inverter(s) to the panels so they can convert the DC energy generated by the panels to AC energy which is used to power home appliances. Timeline for installation can vary from one to three days, depending on the size of the system you are installing.
